Software tools for accountants
From trial balance to filing-ready iXBRL.
HappyStats prepares statutory accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS, for a single company or a group, and produces the iXBRL that Companies House and HMRC accept. It runs on your own machine, so your client data does not pass through us.

What it does
One job, done properly.
HappyStats does the statutory accounts job a finance team in a growing company does every year, without the cost or the set-up of an enterprise platform.
Trial balance in, statements out.
Import a trial balance from any ledger, or one for each company in a group. HappyStats builds the primary statements, named as your framework names them, with the statements of changes in equity and cash flows where the entity needs them, and the disclosure notes that go with them.
Mapped to the FRC taxonomy.
Every account is mapped to an element such as core:PropertyPlantEquipment, taken from the FRC taxonomy entry point for the standard you report under, whether that is FRS 101, FRS 102 (which covers FRS 105 too) or UK-adopted IFRS.
Mappings are kept from one year to the next, so next year starts where this year finished.
Validated before you file, not after.
Every statement is checked back to the trial balance as you work, so a figure that does not reconcile is found at the mapping stage rather than by Companies House. With Arelle installed, the iXBRL is validated against the taxonomy before you file it.
Your data does not pass through us.
HappyStats runs on your own machine, and your entity details, trial balances and accounts stay in your own files. There is no statisfying account and no statisfying server in the path, so we never hold your client data.
What does leave goes where you send it: your iXBRL to the Companies House filing gateway, and your document to the Companies House validator if you turn that on. Drive HappyStats with a cloud AI model and that provider sees whatever you give it, so for client work, use a local model or check the provider's terms.
How HappyStats works
One figure, from the ledger to the filed tag.
The same four steps every year, followed here on a single number. Tangible assets of 184,210 starts as three accounts in the trial balance and ends as a tagged fact in the iXBRL that Companies House receives. Nothing in between is retyped, and every step is checked against the one before it.
01
Import
A trial balance from any ledger, plus last year's accounts for the comparatives. The figure arrives as three separate ledger accounts, exactly as the bookkeeping system exported them.
| Trial balance | £ |
|---|---|
| 0050 Plant and machinery | 142,700 |
| 0060 Motor vehicles | 96,500 |
| 0070 Accumulated depreciation | (54,990) |
| Carried | 184,210 |
02
Map
All three accounts take one taxonomy element, from the FRC entry point for the standard you report under. Confirm it in the first year and it is kept: next year the same codes arrive already mapped, and only the figures change.
| Account | Element |

| 0050, 0060, 0070 | core:PropertyPlantEquipment |

03
Review
The statements and the notes are built from the mapped figures rather than retyped from them, so the face of the balance sheet and the fixed asset note carry the same number by construction.
| Fixed assets | 2026 | 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Tangible assets | 184,210 | 162,904 |
| Note 8, tangible assets | 184,210 | 162,904 |
04
File
The tag Companies House and HMRC read. You can open the file yourself and find your own trial balance inside it, which is the whole point of the three steps above.

Approach
Our approach to building.
Build together, don't reinvent alone.
Accountants solving the same problem separately is wasted effort. Shared, open-core tools get better faster.
For growing businesses.
Start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs need something simpler than the platforms multinationals have the budget for.
Built LLM-first.
Every tool can be driven by an LLM as directly as by a person, with any frontier model rather than one provider.

Request early access.
Early access is open to finance teams in UK start-ups, scale-ups and SMEs preparing accounts under FRS 101, FRS 102, FRS 105 or UK-adopted IFRS. Tell us what you file and we will be in touch within two working days.
We use what you send only to reply to you, and we do not pass it on. Statisfying Ltd is the data controller: the privacy notice says what that means in practice.
